Produced from only 1963 to 1967, the second generation “C2” Corvette is, thus far, the shortest-lived of the model’s eight generations. With a new, increasingly performance-focused third generation on the horizon, Chevrolet closed out the production run of the C2 Sting Ray with an especially potent engine: the 427-cubic-inch L71 V8. With an 11:1 compression ratio, three two-barrel Holley carburetors, a solid-lifter camshaft, and enlarged valve heads, the motor was good for (a likely under-rated) 435 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. With power delivered through a close-ratio Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission, a Corvette so equipped blurred the line between sports and muscle cars.
The magnificent 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 427/435hp Convertible offered here is finished in an exceptionally fetching combination of Rally Red with a White stripe over a White interior and a matching folding convertible top. This vehicle was ordered with several high-performance options in addition to its L71 V8: a Muncie close-ratio transmission, a Positraction differential, and an F41 heavy-duty suspension. As such, this Corvette represents one of the top-performing American vehicles from its era.
Following a concours-level restoration, this investment-grade Corvette won the coveted Triple Crown of Corvette awards: the NCRS Top-Flight, Bloomington Gold Certification, and Spinner Concours Gold. This incredible vehicle is ready to be shown or driven by its next caretaker and is accompanied by an owner’s manual, warranty guide with original Protect-o-Plate, and awards plaques. We are proud to offer this exquisite, show-winning Corvette to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best!
